Recipe:
The infamous “I eat Danger for Breakfast” from Jasper’s Homebrew
Goals:
Make a cozy coconut beer to curl up by the fire with this winter. In the style of oskar blues’s recent coconut porter.
Brew Notes:
Brewed at Ross’s house on the electric kettle, inside. One element (small one) was on during boil. Due to timing we did the extract recipe

Yeast:
2x US-O5 packets
Starter:
The packets were rehydrated overnight and pitched in the morning.
Fermentation notes:
Due to cold temps in the back stairwell, the beer was moved to the back area after 24h. Light bubbling for 48h, then it slowed significantly.
Bottling notes:
Pink-ish caps with “41” on them.
Label
Yes!
Tasting notes:
We were both surprised at how subtle the coconut was. Potentially adding it earlier, letting it sit for longer, or toasting it may have given us different results. All deserve some exploration. I could see brewing a lighter coconut beer as well.
Conclusion:
It’s beer! Drink it!
